The mayor announced a total of $157,000 in Fall River ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) Small Business Recovery Grant awards were being distributed to 48 businesses and one non-profit group in increments of either $2,500 or $5,000.
That leaves another $3.1 million remaining in the city’s ARPA grant kitty.
The grants are intended to help for-profit and non-profit businesses that have been financially damaged as result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A special ARPA panel voted last December to allocate $3.26 million for the business-friendly grant funds from the $69.6 million in total ARPA funding the city has been promised by the federal government.
